Republican Carol Bush of Newington is running against Le for the District 31 seat. The retired teacher said she was asked to run; and since she has always been interested in politics, it seemed like a good time to throw her hat in the ring.
“I am a conservative and I think we need more of that in Concord,” Bush said. “If I am elected, I will work to keep those values and the conservative agendas in place for our constituents.”
One of the top priorities for Bush will be to remove the Common Core style of education she says was pushed on New Hampshire schools. She said it isn’t working for teachers or for students.
“I was a teacher, and I think this puts undue stress on everyone,” she said. “I have always been involved with children and they are my priority. I was a Campfire Leader. I home-schooled my two sons, and they are doing well. I believe that family values are important, to the individual and to the way we shape education in this state.”
