The teachers in our research group know they are a failure.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The key features of this new model are an emphasis on creativity, innovation and \u201cdigital literacies,\u201d with more discussion of broad concepts and big ideas and less emphasis on factual knowledge. Courses will be personalized to suit students\u2019 \u201clearning preferences.\u201d Classes will be \u201cstudent-centred,\u201d and feature far less direct instruction and far more project and group work. Teachers will be expected to act as guides to \u201cself-directed learners.\u201d Technology will feature heavily in the classroom. Grades and testing will be downgraded. (Because who, after all, can measure \u201ccreativity\u201d?)<\/p>\n<p>What evidence is there that this new approach produces better results?
