We’ve been watching reformers come and go for many years. Bill Dagget is no exception. He is another “consultant” who capitalizes off of taxpayers promoting the newest and latest fads in education. <\/p>\n
In this article<\/a> “Beware outside consultants? – Part 1, Willard Daggett,” you can watch a video of Dagget and read through a blog that calls into question his “accuracy and\/or truthfulness.”<\/p>\n The author goes on to question whether Iowa should be basing their school reforms on what Daggett is selling.<\/p>\n Regardless of the underlying appeal of his messages, at what point do the multiple accusations about Daggett’s ongoing disregard for facts impact his credibility and worthiness as a consultant and\/or speaker? I wonder if the Iowa Department of Education, state educational leadership associations, and school districts even know about all of this. If so, should they disregard his rigor\/relevance framework and exhortations about teaching kids 21st century skills?<\/em><\/p>\n While some of the links are old and outdated, there is still enough evidence<\/a> to question the decision by SNHU.<\/a> Did they just hire the nation’s top snake oil salesman? <\/p>\n We need to start asking ourselves why administrators making six figure salaries need to then go out and hire over-paid consultants. If they are capable of running an institution of higher learning, why do they need to contract out additional work to so many consultants?
