You’d better believe that someone will be ‘in your classroom telling you how to teach’ because we’ve been there, done that!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The U. S. Chamber of Commerce has just released this \u201cpuff piece\u201d video entitled \u201cIt\u2019s Time for Common Core State Standards.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/param><\/param><\/param><\/embed><\/object><\/center><\/p>\n

But what the U. S. Chamber of Commerce does not bother to mention is that they have received a $1.38 million grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation<\/strong> — \u201cto lead the effort to engage and educate state and local chambers to support Common Core State Standards.\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n

Propaganda techniques abound in their video \u2013 bandwagon, name calling, transfer, loaded words, plain folk, glittering generalities, and testimonials. What they did not include In this video is any actual peer-reviewed, replicated, independent research to prove that Common Core Standards will raise academic achievement. The reason none of this research is included is that no such research exists. The Common Core Standards are not internationally benchmarked and have no research to prove their academic excellence. They were written mainly by a handful of people, some of whom have never even taught a day in their lives in K-12. <\/p>\n

The Common Core Standards are the worst, most destructive, and most expensive education fad our country has ever seen; but this time grassroots parents, teachers, and the public are fighting back against the Obama administration\u2019s federal takeover of our nation\u2019s schools”<\/em><\/p>\n
